Lighting Installation across Kent
Lighting is the electrical work people actually look at every day, so it's worth getting the positions and switching right rather than just putting fittings where the old ones were. We install and upgrade lighting across Kent — room and kitchen schemes, LED replacements, garden and security lighting, and commercial LED conversions that cut a running cost you can measure.
What's included
- Room, kitchen and bathroom lighting to the correct IP rating
- LED upgrades — fittings and drivers replaced, not just lamps swapped
- Outdoor, garden, patio and security lighting with proper weatherproofing
- Additional switching, two-way and dimmable circuits
- Commercial LED conversions and emergency lighting
- Careful routing in period property where chasing isn't appropriate
How it works
Talk it through
We look at the room, how it's used and where the switching actually needs to be.
Plan the circuit
Positions, switching and any new circuit work agreed before anything is cut.
Install
Fittings installed, routed neatly, with making-good kept to a minimum.
Test and certify
New circuits are tested and certified, and notified where Part P requires it.
“Called Gary at 4am he was at my house for 5am and stopped the leak from doing any further damage and arranged for the repair to be carried out by a plumber. Had him back a few weeks later to find the problem with a socket in my garage that kept tripping. He rewired it all for me and now it works perfect.”
“I phoned him on a Saturday morning. He said could he pop round later and give us a quote. He checked everything and said the job was quite straightforward. The price was very reasonable and Gary said he could fit them there and then. Gary is very knowledgeable, he explained everything and carried out the work cleanly and efficiently. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Gary.”
“I had a problem with my lights, I had no lights in the house at all. Gary came over to the house and got all the electricity sorted for us in under an hour, so I have no problem recommending him and his company for any electrical issues. He was clean and tidy, good value, friendly and fast.”
“Gary has completed work for me a number of times, including fitting a new kitchen light, repairing a broken plug socket, fitting Hive, fitting alarm/security system and changing light switches to dimmer switches. He always completes work to a high standard.”
Lighting Installation — common questions
Can you replace halogen downlights with LED?
Yes, and it's one of our most common lighting jobs. Where the existing fittings and transformers are old we replace the fitting and driver rather than just swapping lamps — that's what actually delivers the energy saving and stops the flickering and early failures people get from lamp-only swaps.
Do you install outdoor and security lighting?
Yes — garden, patio, driveway and security lighting, with the right IP rating for the position and a properly protected supply. Where a run has to cross a garden we use armoured cable at the correct depth rather than something that will fail in two winters.
Can you fit lighting in a listed or period property?
Yes. A lot of our Faversham and Canterbury work is exactly this. We route through floor voids and existing chases where we can, use discreet surface containment where we can't, and choose fittings and switch positions that suit the building.
Do bathroom lights need anything special?
Yes. Bathrooms are divided into zones, and the fitting has to carry an IP rating suitable for the zone it's in, on an RCD-protected circuit. It's one of the areas where DIY installs most often fail an EICR, so it's worth having done properly and certified.
